Sara’s story
I am undertaking a huge personal challenge by cycling a height similar to the summit of Mount Everest (over 5000 metres) over three days with a team from MedAire and International SOS.
The group includes medical professionals and international assistance specialists from the two companies who have a passion for cycling.
The course includes the Formentor Lighthouse, Sa Calobra and finishing up with a route from Lluc to Palma.
I am training whilst my husband is away at sea and I have a 2.5 year old called Alfie… finding time is tricky, and involves many hours on a static bike!
I am supporting the Superyacht Charities, who support ex servicemen and those with multiple sclerosis through sailing. I am also undertaking the cycle as a tribute to my belief and personal discovery that exercise and sailing for pleasure can keep you mentally and physically strong and help you overcome any physical and mental challenges alongside professional support. I hope you can donate some of your well earnt cash to these worthy causes not for me but for what they do and contribute to those they assist.
I am happy to offer a return sponsorship to anyone who takes up a similar challenge!
All funds raised will be passed to the charity irrespective of whether my target is reached, not reached or exceeded.
